Great! He must see us as a team on the rise. Maybe we can get a discount....

nah, we're gonna pay top dollar for this guy, but that doesn't matter.

Our line is a top 5 line the second he signs. I can't remember the last time i could say that.

And he will sign.

I hope you're right snips. I hope he does sign..and quickly.

wow, great news if were on the top of Brown's list. Wow.. What a great line we would have if we land him as well. Outstanding!

Great tidbit in there at the bottom too, with the phins and Bell being close to a done deal as well. Lots of good, exciting news in this article.

Hey Brandon, I will just add to your post

The Dolphins are reportedly likely to re-sign free agent SS Yeremiah Bell before the market opens at 12AM ET Friday.

Chris Wesseling's top free agent safety, Bell can expect a shorter deal than Troy Polamalu and Kerry Rhodes have signed in recent years. Bell is 31.

The Dolphins are free agent G/C Jason Brown's "preferred destination," according to the Palm Beach Post.

The Fins are also interested in him, and it'll be no surprise if they get Brown signed by the wee hours early Friday. It remains unclear whether Miami would play Brown at guard or center. They're expected to target centers.

If he signs with us it makes our Oline alot better and provides depth with Satele playing guard along with back-up center.

I doubt Satele is starting next year... Our OL will look like:

J. Long J. Smiley Brown R. Thomas V. Carey

with Satele backing up the G and C positions. what a Great O-line thats all I can say...

Thank you giovafin for this awesome Sig!

This would go a LONG way to addressing our tough schedule this year, you have a top five line in the league you can beat anybody.

I bet we look to move Satele in a trade to offload his salary and sign a cheaper backup.

I could only imagine how happy Ronnie Brown is thinking about this...

As a fan, I can't wait to see us run the ball up the middle; without Brown or Williams being hit in the backfield or having to juke someone back there. This is the year to truely judge how good Brown is and based off what I have seen from him, I exspect huge numbers!!!

Ronnie Brown for MVP Fantasy HB next year, get him while he is hot!!!

Satele's contract is cheap. He's still on his rookie contract.

In addition to the post I made earlier here, here is more info regarding Brown:

In addition to the Dolphins, G/C Jason Brown anticipates drawing interest from the Redskins and possibly the Jaguars when free agency opens.

After opting out of free agency last spring, it appears Skins owner Dan Snyder is right back in the thick of it. Jacksonville lost both its starting guards to major injuries in 2008 and free agent C Brad Meester is likely to depart.

Dilemmas connected with signing Jason Brown

http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins_in_depth/2009/02/dilemmas-connected-with-signing-jason-brown.html

So the Dolphins have definitely shown interest in whatever manner teams do it without breaking the NFL mandate against tampering. And they are likely to find themselves in some sort of bidding battle with Washington, possibly Jacksonville, and other teams.

The brings me to Miami's first dilemma. Do the Dolphins go all out to keep from being outbid for perhaps the best young offensive lineman left in free agency or do they follow their unstated policy of doing sound, fair, but unspectacular free agent deals?

If Miami is intent on following policy, it would not surprise if Washington gets Brown because owner Daniel Snyder's deep pockets and aggressive reputation toward getting players is no joke. It doesn't always work for the Redskins, but they typically land players they really want.

We have a major tax and real estate availability advantage.

Bring this man back into the fold if you want some real leadership on this team.

We have money, so does other teams. Supply and demaind phineas. I don't think any player gives a "discount" as long as an agent is involved.

But i do agree fully with you, if we can get JBrown great, if he comes below what we expect him to get, even better :knucks:

I did mean Satele would be in a back-up role. Thats why I said depth, But alos considering that Justin Smiley (Never stays healthy) and Donald Thomas missed most of last season I do think he will start at some point.

The last minute resigning of Crowder tells me we aren't focusing on anyone else but Brown at the start of FA. If the FO believes he's the guy, then make it happen boys, and get him down here.

It's the gift that keeps on giving.

If he comes to Miami for a visit before he goes to JAX or DC, then advantage us. We need to get a signature before he leaves.

Indeed. Letting him leave without the signature would be a huge disappointment. Assuming he does come to Miami first.

Yea to add to you guys' hope in getting brown...

Rumors are going around that we have stopped talks with him. Dont know why but thats the word...
it looks like we might keep our LB's and go after Saturday or Birk.
